We’re jumping for joy around here because my newest fabrics with Riley Blake Designs are now available in shops!
I designed Airplane knits because I wanted a knit print that wasn’t too babyish for my older boys – both of whom are about to outgrow my patterns!
As cool as it is to see a design you drew in a fabric, it’s even cooler when you get samples of your fabric and your kids trip over themselves requesting clothing sewn from it. And that’s exactly what happened when I got sample yardage of these prints.
So I made each boy a Tee x 3 t-shirt and a pair of Dreamtime Jammies.
And I pulled a sneaky mom move: I sewed up these pieces as samples for a trunk show I did at The Quilters Lodge when I was in Utah last month. I didn’t tell the boys I sewed them and they went immediately into my suitcase, so then when I came home and the boys asked what I brought from my trip, I could pull them out. They were so excited with their gifts that they never figured out that I had sewn them before I left.
Here’s a link list of the places I’ve spotted this fabric in so far.
