Hello! It’s Patti from Simple.Blessed, here to share my favorite new pjs with you! I combined the Austin Tee and the Oceanside Pants to create these comfy, never-want-to-change-into-real-clothes pjs!
I don’t know about you, but after the rush of the holidays is over, I need a little down time to collect my thoughts and relax. On days that I don’t have to go into work, you might find me in my pjs well into the morning (ahem… afternoon… ok, all day long!).
The Oceanside Pants provide the perfect loose fit for a classic pajama pant, especially when combined with super soft flannel.
I modified the pockets just slightly to remove the button flap, since I didn’t want to be laying on buttons. Other than that small change, fabric choice was the only adjustment to take these pants into the pj-zone!
To complete the pjs, I needed a basic shirt that I could add some interest to, and the Austin Tee was perfect for that.
The notched neckline and front center seam add some extra detail to make this more than just your basic tee. I also used a triple stitch zig zag to finish the neckline and hem the sleeves and bottom, because I think it’s fun to play with more interesting stitches on your pjs!
For this tee, I used a cotton lycra from Raspberry Creek Fabrics. I rarely use cotton lycra for my tees (I usually prefer something with more drape), but pjs tops are the exception. I love the structure and thickness for this top, plus it’s super comfortable and easy to wash and wear.
As you can see, my cat Jax gave these the cuddle seal of approval!
