Hello everybody, Annika from Näh-Connection here again with another fun boy sewing project – the Hipster Henley. Last year I already tried out Melly’s Perfect Polo pattern and this year I wanted to try out yet another fun t-shirt pattern that is a little bit different from your normal tee. Those of you that follow my blog will know that I love, no LOVE, knit. My kids are very active. There isn’t a day on which they don’t race around the dining table or jump on the couch. Clothes made from knit don’t restrict their movements, but are always comfy.
However, at some point the 1000th tee with ribbing gets a bit boring and I wanted something with a little twist. The Hipster Henley was perfect for my cool little man. As with the Perfect Polo I was again astonished how easy the button placket was. Although I took a shortcut and used Kam Snaps instead of doing buttonholes. I used a very stretchy ribbing knit for the button placket. Had I tried to do buttonholes in this fabric, I’m sure my machine would have been called some really bad words 😉 The camera fabric is from my stash. It was one of the first NOSH collections and I had just enough left from another project to make this Hipster Henley. The fabric is out of stock, but there are other nice fabrics in this finnish shop. The quality is amazing and they ship relatively cheap worldwide!
I didn’t do a formal photoshooting this time. My kids cooperated so well during the last weeks when I competed in Project Run and Play and I just didn’t want to bother my son yet again. Instead I let him play and took pictures while he was “working” with his tools and playing with his remote controlled fire truck. Much more relaxed for both of us 🙂 Please remember to come over to Näh-Connection, too. I have released the german version of both the Hipster Henley and the Perfect Polo just recently and you can see many beautiful examples sewn by my test sewers here. Plus, I’ll soon have a giveaway for the shop where I got my Kam Snaps from on my instagram account, so make sure to follow me there, too!
