Today we have Teresa of Dandelion Drift in a pattern that took me by surprise and by becoming the most popular release this year. Check out her vacation ready version of the Oceanside Pants.
Hey everyone! It's Teresa from Dandelion Drift. I have some great pants to share with you today, but I have to tell you a little back story on why I'm sewing these up. I know most of you have temperatures that are cooling off, but I live where it is hot about 10 months out of the year, sunny, sunny Florida. But really, I chose these pants to sew because we have a family vacation coming up and we'll be headed to HAWAII! Ahhh! And these pants just scream Hawaii vacation!
So the pants...this is the Oceanside Pants pattern from Melissa's shop. Everything came together so quickly and easily! And I LOVE them. I really could live in them, day in and day out!
I sewed these up in Robert Kaufman's essex yarn dyed linen. I've used Robert Kaufman linen once before when sewing shorts for my husband, so I knew this material had the weight and drape that I would want in these pants. And I love that this linen is mixed with cotton so that it doesn't wrinkle to easily. (These photos were taken after wearing the pants around for a few hours.)
I've been trying to show more pictures of the inside of the clothes that I sew. Mostly because I'm nosy and I'd love to see what the insides of your creations look like! What does it look like in there, is it messy...is it neat? I have been blogging for about a year and a half now, and in the beginning of my blogging days, I was all about churning out as many things as I could. Sew, sew, sew. Fast, fast, fast!
Now my focus is on sewing quality garments, inside and out. And sewing clothes that I will reach for regularly! That means my sewing has slowed down, but my clothes are durable, and wearable, and have what it takes to be well loved! These pants fit all of those categories! I french seamed all of my seams. And I was slow and meticulous to make sure all of my topstitching was neat and straight! I LOVE how these turned out! (Have I said that yet?)
