InĀ our Instagram feed, we sometimes share RTW (ready-to-wear) looks that we come across that would be easy to recreate with Blank Slate Patterns.
Great hack for Blanc! You’ll need the long sleeves and cuffs in the hack pack.
Shorten the front and back pieces about 4″ for this cropped look. Then for the split hem band, you’ll draft your own pieces like this…
First, measure the lower edge of your front pattern piece. Cut a piece of your fabric that long and 6″ tall. Repeat for the back lower edge and hem band piece.
Fold one of your hem band pieces in half (bringing long edges together), right sides together. Sew the short ends using a 1/2″ seam allowance. Turn right side out and press. Repeat with the other hem band piece.
After your tee is constructed, attach your hemĀ bands. Pin the front band to the right side of the tee front, and the back to the right side of the back, raw edges aligned. Be sure the two hem band pieces abut each other at the side seams. Stitch, using a stretch stitch.
