Hi there, Melly Sews readers! Sarah from The Crazy Tailor here with some W pants – shorts, actually! Last time I sewed for this little guy he was definitely smaller! Buddy is 3 now and finally starting to grow out of his 2T’s so it was time to make some shorts for summer.
These shorts go together quite quickly (don’t be scared by that zippered welt pocket – it’s not that hard!) and I can see that the color-blocking options are endless with that inverted back yoke.
I chose to do the shorts length and this pattern also comes with capri and full length options. I also skipped the zipper fly since that’s easier for this kiddo right now. These were sewn up in a classic navy blue twill and although you can’t really see it, the pocket lining and inside waistband are a fun plaid!
These are a great wardrobe staple easily dressed up or down and they stand out with just enough detail!
This is a pattern to take you through the year…shorts to pants!
Happy Sewing!
