While designing the Wyler Hoodie, we looked at several finishes for the hood and neckline. Since the back of the hoodie is unlined and the front construction is a folded facing, we needed to find an option that left a nice neckline finish and accommodated the other design features.
Ultimately we decided that bagging the hoodie into the hood gave the best finish. This means hand stitching a hole in the hood lining to get an invisible finish, but the trade off is worth it. Watch the video below to see how to construct the hood, or you can watch on YouTube here.
To finish the hole in the hood lining, you use a blind stitch (aka a ladder stitch or slip stitch), as shown in the video below and on YouTube here.
